Planning for 2006
Monday, 31 October 2005

ImageGibernau to Ducati, Checa to Camel Honda, Bayliss to SBK…… it’s no wonder they call it the silly season, and it’s well and truly underway as teams and riders make plans and preparations for 2006.

Aswell as GP and SBK, the WEC paddock is in on the action with rumours of which riders will be where for 2006.

For me, I don’t believe anything anymore until I see it for myself, but it’s still pretty hard not to get excited sometimes!

I’ve yet to sign for the 2006 season, but I can’t see it being too long before I come to a final decision and announce something soon.

I’m confident that I’ll be staying in the WEC paddock for 2006, as I’ve really had a great time there this year. Phase One Yamaha have just been fantastic to ride for, and I can honestly say that I’ve had more fun with my racing this year than ever before.

Plus, with the inclusion of the Bol’dor 24 hour and the classic LeMans 24 hour to the 2006 WEC calender, the season’s total race time is a whopping 98hours of racing. That’s like 6 Motogp season’s in a row!

A lot of things (as always) depend on sponsors. Sponsors of the Teams, Sponsors of the series, and most importantly for me, personal sponsors of the riders.

I have been fortunate to have had fantastic support from companies like Joe Rocket and Shark Helmets this year, who without their backing, it would be impossible to do what I do.

On top of this, people like Tony from Taree Aquatic and Leisure Centre who helps with my training, Pete and the team from Ozehost who help with my website, the Redfern’s who donated their frequent flyer points to help with a flight, all made a big difference to my 2005 season and have all been so important in keeping my dream alive. More important than they know.

Next year I want to take it to the rest of them, and fight for that World Endurance Title.

But I need your help.

If you love motorsport, if you’ve ever thought of being involved, or if you want to be part of my dream, please contact me here through my website to find out more.

Let’s make it happen.
